School is a place to gain life experience, meet different types of people, learn valuable lessons, gain social interaction, and prepare you for the real world. It's also a place where you will find teachers that hate you, bullies, the popular crowd you'd probably give anything to be in if you're not in, and unfairness all around. Homework, projects, tests, and other ways of making you feel like dropping out.

At some point during your schooling career, you'll most likely have to deal with the issue of clothes. Apparently they make a really big difference. If you don't wear name brand (ex. Aeropostale, Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister), you'll probably get made fun of. Of course, buying a $50 shirt that probably isn't even of higher quality makes you that much cooler. Rest assured, once you're out of high school, nobody is gonna give a crap what you wear.

And then there are the relationships. School also serves a purpose as a dating hub. A place for people to find matches. To find the kind of love in which they ignore everyone but their significant other when they're around.

Drama is also found in this big zoo. He said she said, relationship drama, rumors, and the classic fight.

This place is a test, just like puberty. The strong ones persevere and make it out. The weak, well, don't make it. After graduation, you'll probably realize how much you'll miss this place, unless you went to a really bad school.
Jerry: Mom, I don't wanna go to school today. Don't make me go!

Mom: I'm sorry Jerry, we can't have you kids walking about all day. Off to jail, oh um, I mean school with you.

SCHOOL stands for:
Seven
Crappy
Hours
Of
Our
Lives
kid: Teacher, I just thought of a way to remember how to spell the word school!
teacher: how do you remember?
kid: it stands for seven crappy hours of our lives.
teacher: good one!

School. A place for education. Most people hate school for its boredom. Do you know why 'school' is spelled that way? Because even the person who invented 'school' didnt know what to call it, so instead he just described it as -
Six
Crappy
Hours
Of
Our
Lives
and there we have it.
Why else would it be called 'School'? Its definitely not
Six
Awesome
Hours
Of
Our
Lives

Okay, firstly, I admit I hate school. The stupid rules/dress code, and I have been suspended several times, and I am failing. But to those who rant on and on about "waah, school sucks", and "*cry*, they made me do my homework and run a lot of laps" well boo the fuck hoo. If you want to succeed in life, you need school. An education is a necessity, like food, and water. And it's funny, because ironically enough, those people who ranted about school being "stupid" actually went to school and gained a brain, then they'd realize how retarded they once were acting.

I admit that school can be a bore, and the egotistical teachers that are drunk on power with their stupid rules may be complete hypocrits, but you need school, and school needs you.

You've got your life to think about, don't slack off in school and throw it all away, because when you're homeless and living on the street, I won't be the one to throw you a quarter.
Freddy the homeless bum slacked off in school, so he ended up on the street. When the successful businessman walked past Freddy, he remembered Freddy as being the "cool" kid who bothered the businessman in school for his taped up glasses and funny clothes. So the businessman kicked Freddy in the head as hard as he could and killed him.

Freddy - Got any spare change?
Businessman - No, but I have a $300 dollar shoe with your name on it!

A specific era in hiphop history. There have been many discussions about the difference between the "Old School" and the New School". One accepted view was put to words in alt.rap by Charles L. Isbell:
All of time can be divided pretty easily this way:
- Everything before "Run DMC" (Run DMC 1984)
- Everything before "It Takes A Nation of Millions To Hold Us Back" (Public Enemy 1988)

It gets harder after that, but maybe you'd have to label parallel movements with stuff like:

+ Everything before "Straight Outta Compton" (NWA 1988) and "Amerikkka's Most Wanted" (Ice Cube 1990) for the West Coast Gangsta Movement
+ Everything before "3 Feet High And Rising" (De La Soul 1989) and "Low End Theory" (A Tribe Called Quest 1991) for the Jazz/Bohemian Movement

Others seem to think we're about to enter the Everything before "93 'Til Infinity" (Souls of Mischief 1993) era for the Ascendency of Hieroglyphics, but I'll reserve judgement on that.

There are also several dark moments: MC Hammer ushered in the HipPop Era and Vanilla "No I really used to be rich; May I take your order?" Ice ushered in something unspeakable (Snow, if nothing else).

Hmmmmm, here's a way to pass the time: what are the key moments/movements and what albums/artists best represent them? How have they influenced the direction of rap? Making no value judgements, I'd have to say that the four most influential hiphop moments/movements are the ones I listed above and for obvious reasons.
Old School has some dope shit, Red Alert, Slick Rick, Whodini dope ass old school rappers
